Our Atlas Mountain Adventure: Hiking Through the Ourika Valley
We booked our tour through Get Your Guide (highly recommend!), and it was the perfect escape. The drive itself was stunning, as the landscape gradually transformed from the flat plains around Marrakech to the rugged Atlas Mountains.
Our hike took us through the Ourika Valley, and it was breathtaking. We visited the quaint villages of Imlil and Ait Souka, each offering panoramic views and a fascinating peek into Berber life
The hike was around 5 km, and it was quite an adventure! We were climbing over snow-covered rocks, navigating tricky trails, and carefully stepping our way up and down. It took us about 2 hours, and we recommend being in decent shape and wearing sturdy, non-slip shoes. Seriously, your ankles will thank you!
Lunch with a View
Worthy of a mention for the day? Definitely, the homemade lunch in Ait Souka village. We devoured a delicious tagine and fresh bread on a terrace overlooking the mountains. Honestly, the view was the perfect backdrop for a truly memorable meal. Talk about a foodie moment!
